Interview with the Authoress Part 1

No #DeepThoughtThursday—This month is the 7th anniversary of the book It’s A Lovesong we thought we would do something different this year to celebrate. This month every Thursday, we are going to do an interview with the author.

This week’s session….

Interviewer: So, tell us a little bit about yourself.

SJ: I’m a native Washingtonian, all of my credentials really don’t matter, I like to think of myself as the consummate student of life. I’m forever learning. I’m a multi-layered storyteller, who enjoys great conversations, great & interesting people and a straight gangsta for Jesus. Anything else you want to know you’re going have to spend some time with me…as she chuckles.

Interviewer: How long have you been an Author?

SJ: Ooh, if I were to throw it back a bit, and answer that the way Maya Wilkes from the UPN TV series “Girlfriends”, I’ve been a published Authoress for seven years now…lol. But I’ve been writing a little of everything since I was 12 years old.

Interviewer: What made you decide to write It’s A Lovesong?

SJ: That’s a really good question, I had been taking a lot of mastermind classes on business and entrepreneurship. Some of those courses lead me to self-publishing ideas, etc. It wasn’t my intent to write a book or to even publish it. After some research on self-publishing, I thought to myself this seemed fairly easily and it wasn’t out of my budget at the time.

Interviewer: Do you plan on writing another book?

SJ: I would really like to write another, but it wouldn’t be poetry, it would be fiction. I would like to try my hand at a comedic novel. Writing is so subjective, and you have to write what people would want to read. I’m a creative writer at heart, I love to tell a story through the expressions of words. I have a love affair with words like one would have a love affair with music, cooking, or painting. Anything that allows the soul to express itself uninhibited, my expressions happens to be through writing.

We are just getting started, join us next week to hear the rest of the interview with Storm Jennings.
